Agile Manoeuvring and Control with Morphing Wings
My research follows a number of themes:
1. Developing methods to make accurate measurements of a birds flight path; Recording control inputs and the body response, in lieu of a controlled environment
2. Progressing the modelling of the kinematics of bird flight with a focus on manoeuvres that have been traditionally difficult to study in a laboratory
3. Improving the flight performance of small scale UAV's using bio-inspired design
