Personal profile

Research interests

My research interests lie at the intersection of applied mathematics, physics and electrical engineering. I am particularly interested in solving problems which will support the transition to a net-zero carbon society. I investigate all power grids from isolated/remote microgrids to highly-connected larger power grids. I am interested in how modelling energy storage can enable a larger integration of renewable power sources into power grids. Some topics of interest are:

  • Networks
  • Power grid stability
  • Lithium-ion supercapacitors
  • Integration of renewable energy
