Research interests

Dr Jon Goldwin is an experimental atomic physicist with a focus on quantum light and matter. His research seeks to develop novel quantum systems for next-generation sensing and metrology, with an eye towards both practical applications and more fundamental physics. He arrives most recently from industry, where he worked on quantum computing with neutral atoms and ions. Prior to that he led a research group at the University of Birmingham, working on cavity quantum electrodynamics and various quantum sensing modalities with hot and cold atoms.
