I am an interdisciplinary scholar of food, broadly drawing from traditions within human (primarily economic) geography, organisation studies, political economy and the sociology of consumption.

My research builds on three interrelated strands:

• Alternative economic spaces in the food system in times of crisis and austerity
• Comparative Alternative Food Network (AFN) studies, with a particularly interest in Chinese AFNs
• Recent dietary change, with particular reference to alternative proteins and markets for 'meat alternatives'
