Personal profile
Research interests
As an interdisciplinary social scientist, my work primarily draws from theoretical resources across political economy, science and technology studies and the sociology of consumption. Much of my work to date has focused on the agri-food sector, with particular interest in the ways in which food consumption and diets are shaped by different patterns of governance, innovation (in the broadest sense) and markets in the enactment of healthier and sustainable futures. I am currently employed within the H3 Consortium (h3.ac.uk), a major £6.4m investment via the UK Research and Innovation Strategic Priorities Fund to improve health and sustainability outcomes across the food system.
My current research revolves around three interconnected strands:
1) Dietary change and the political economy of knowledge
2) Regenerative agriculture and the valorisation of products in new markets
3) The performative dimensions of vernacular policy framings
