I am interested in pushing the boundaries of structural dynamic/aeroelastic calculations, improving the efficiency of flight through the exploitation of aeroelastic phenomena. My PhD focusses on the application of the dynamic effects of fuel sloshing to aircraft design, particularly considering future propulsion systems. This will include experimental investigation of fuel sloshing under complex excitations (e.g. combined vertical and lateral motion), the development of reduced-order models to simulate the dynamic effects of fuel and the integration of these models into the aircraft design process.
