Research interests
I work with Dr Wael Kafienah exploring the use of stem cell therapies in tissue engineering with a focus on cartilage repair. We are working to differentiate induced pluirpotent stem cells into chondrocytes to produce a cartilage that mimcs native cartilage.
I also have an interest in understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of ostearthritis with an aim to improve current treatments for patients and also to improve the quality and longevity of the cartilage that we engineer.
