Research interests

My research interests focus primarily around aesthetic theory, popular film, issues of gender and sexuality, film philosophy and phenomenology. I am currently researching the use of disgust in popular representations of feminine adolescence within the horror genre, with the motivation to broaden understanding of an affect that is largely considered to be limited in its aesthetic value.

I am currently teaching on the Modern Languages unit 'Contemporary European Cinema' and the FTV unit 'Film and Television History to 1960'.
