Research interests

I am a Post-doctoral Research Associate in Andrew Davidson's lab.

I am interested in the effects that human viruses have upon the metabolism of the cells they infect. What changes does the infection cause to the cell's metabolism and is the virus dependent upon these to replicate? How does the virus reprogramme these metabolic processes to provide energy and biosynthetic components to make new virus particules. Part of my work at UoB has been using mass spectrometric analysis to identify changes in the lipid metabolism and resulting lipid profile of virus infected cells.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic I have been working on SARS-CoV-2 to investigate how it infects and replicates within cells as well as the human immune response to the virus.
