Research interests

My current research is in RF and Wireless Communications Security. I am currently exploring RF-Cyber Physical Security Techniques based on Supervised Machine Learning (ML), Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Deep Neural Networks (DNNs), Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and Demodulation Free Random Access (DFRA) for secure RF transmission and more importantly (i) localisation, (ii) identification, and (iii) classification of RF attacks and threats, for the SWAN project.
 
The SWAN research that I undertake, although focussed mainly on the PHY Layer and MAC Layer, is highly interdisciplinary and a strong focus on RF (active and passive circuits) design for the SWAN transceiver as well as advanced signal processing and  machine learning algorithms for RF cyber-physical, i.e. MAC-PHY security.
 
At heart, I am still a power amplifier design engineer. My other research interests are in (i) RFIC (radio frequency integrated circuits) design, (ii) filter design, (iii) microwave design, (iv) RF-MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical systems), (v) antenna design, (vi) signal processing, (vii) massive MIMO, (viii) beamfroming, (ix) non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), and (vi) optimisation algorithms for stochastic processes.
