Personal profile

Research interests

I am a PhD student working with Professor Marcus Munafo (Tobacco and Alcohol Research Group/School of Psychological Sciences), Dr Rebecca Richmond and Professor George Davey Smith (MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit). I am based in the Meta-Research workstream of the Tobacco and Alcohol Research Group. My research focuses on the reproducibility of large epidemiological studies in terms of transparency and analytical flexibility (focusing on Mendelian randomisation studies in UK Biobank). I am currently working on a project with Professor Deborah Lawlor and Dr Louise Millard (MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit) conducting a Phenome-Wide Association Study in Uk Biobank.

During my undergraduate degree I completed an internship in the Tobacco and Alcohol Research Group under the supervision of Professor Marcus Munafo, Dr Amy Taylor and Dr Jorien Treur, which looked for causal relationships between both coffee consumption and smoking with sleep disturbance and circadian rhythm. From this we produced two papers, one on which I am second author (published in The Journal of Sleep Research) and another on which I am first author (published in Nicotine and Tobacco).
