Research interests

My PhD is entitled “Estimating the Effects of ‘Daylight Saving Time’ on Cardiovascular Outcomes,  Depressive Symptoms and Road Traffic Injuries in England”.

Using linked GP and hospital records (CPRD/HES) I will use a regression discontinuity design to examine the effect of the spring and autumn clock changes on cardiovascular events, depressive incidents and road traffic injuries.

During my PhD I will use accelerometer data from the UK Biobank data to examine the effect of the clock changes on sleep. I will also compare UK Biobank participants' self-reported insomnia to insomnia symptoms in their linked primary care records in order to explore the use of electronic health records to study sleep disorders.
