Research interests

Sandi is pursuing a PhD in Health Economics and Infectious Disease Modeling at the Department of Population Health Sciences, University of Bristol, UK, as part of the Health Economic Modelling Bristol University Group (HEMBUG) and the Global Epidemiology & Modelling Group Bristol (GEM-B).

She is a medical doctor with MSc in Health Economics, Policy and Management from Karolinska Institute (Sweden) and Master of Public Health from Mahidol University (Thailand), M.B.,B.S from the Institute of Medicine 1 (Myanmar) as well as Diploma in Applied Psychology and Diploma in Social Work from Yangon University (Myanmar).

She has conducted several qualitative and quantitative research on HIV, Viral Hepatitis B and C, sexual and reproductive health, adolescent health, maternal and child health, gender, primary health care and migrant health with a focus on marginalized and underserved populations.

Her interests lie in economic and infectious disease modelling, economic evaluation, and health policy research, as well as health system and implementation research, aiming to generate evidence that improves service delivery, strengthens health systems, and informs policy decisions.
