Research interests
Naomi He is a PhD candidate in the Department of History at the University of Bristol. Supervised by Professor Robert Bickers and Dr Amy Edwards, she is researching the indigenization of life insurance in modern China and its intersections with nationalism, salesmanship, and social welfare during China’s globalization (c. 1880–1949).
Her research interests include Chinese business history, colonial history, international business, nationalism, the history of marketing and salesmanship, family business, and investment culture. She is also broadly interested in the political and economic history of modern China.
She received her MPhil in History from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and her BBA from the University of Notre Dame.
