Research interests

Nate is seconded to the University of Bristol as a Visiting Senior Research Associate within the School of Policy Studies. His current focus involves assisting Dr Natasha Mulvihill in the 'Powerful Perpetrators' project, which critically evaluates regulatory and administrative justice mechanisms related to sexual misconduct and abuse perpetrated by high-status professionals in the UK. This project examines scenarios where professionals target victims seeking support or colleagues in the workplace, as well as instances of abuse within intimate partner relationships.

 

His subject expertise covers topics such as domestic abuse, victimology, and victim engagement with the criminal justice system. In addition to his subject specialism, Nate is proficient in applying a wide variety of mixed methods approaches to police data and is skilled in the application of R programming.

 

Outside of his secondment with the University of Bristol, he is employed as a Research Fellow in Policing at the University of Central Lancashire conducting research and assisting with PhD / Prof Doc supervision. He is also seconded a Researcher / Data Analyst for Lancashire Constabulary, providing research and analystics on a wide variety of policing topics.
