Research interests

Nikos’ research reflects a longstanding interest in the areas of market-based accounting, textual analysis and natural language processing. Some of his recent work examines the role of the financial media in the information transmission process relative to corporate announcements, and the extent to which the financial press serves as an important information intermediary in the capital markets. His research has been published in international journals, including Accounting and Business Research and The British Accounting Review. Nikos also serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for Accounting and Business Research, The British Accounting Review, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, Journal of International Accounting, Auditing and Taxation, Accounting in Europe, and Sustainability Accounting, Management and Policy Journal, among others. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Nikos has received grants from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the British Academy (BA/Leverhulme Small Research Grant).
