Research interests

Patricia (Patty) Miranda is a PhD candidate in Law at the University of Bristol. Her project focuses on the influence of English mental health law and policies on the experiences of Filipino migrant women. She is jointly supervised by Prof Judy Laing and Prof John Coggon. Patty is a trustee of Kanlungan Filipino Consortium, a progressive migrant support and human rights organisation in the UK.

Her research interests include global health justice, gender in migration, intersectionality, public health emergency preparedness, transnational care practices, and the legal determinants of health.
