Personal profile
Research interests
I am a research active sociologist who advocates for a social science perspective to dental education and oral health research. My educational research projects are primarily concerned with amplifying the dental student voice and their learning journey through dental school, especially regarding the teaching and learning of dental professionalism, social and behavioural sciences in dental curricula, and student engagement. My other research interests are in equality and inclusion issues in dentistry, digital technology and social media in dentistry, dental/healthcare professionalism and a sociology of oral health. These research projects build on my previous/ongoing work in the sociology of gender, health, and education.
