Personal profile

Research interests

My research explores how microbial communities are structured across environmental gradients and connected ecosystems, and how ecological interactions among microbial taxa influence biodiversity and ecosystem functioning. I am especially interested in the following questions:

  • How do microbial communities assemble across connected ecosystems and environmental gradients?
  • What ecological interactions underpin microbial food webs in low-nutrient environments?
  • How does glacier retreat reshape microbial ecosystems and ecosystem functioning?
  • What drives microbial biogeography and endemism across the cryosphere?
