My work is mainly driven by the aim of addressing the institutional sources of racial and other discriminations and inequalities. Since 2017, as part of the EU-funded ETHOS project (ethos-europe.eu), I have conducted UK and comparative studies on the structural determinants of socioeconomic precarity; the political representation of minorities; the legal protection of the rights to housing, education and vote; and the discursive construction of justice in debates around the Grenfell fire, the education of Muslims and the commemoration of British history. My doctoral research, supported by the Spanish Ministry of Education, examined the interplay between internationally recognised rights to education and non-discrimination, public policies and racism in the European context. From 2013 to 2017 I participated in the MULTIHURI project on human rights and cultural diversity (www.multihuri.com) led by the University of Valencia Human Rights Institute.
