Research interests
Bex Willans is a Ph.D. candidate Disability Studies researching disability and play. She is the deputy manager at KIDS Lady Allen Adventure Playground for disabled children and young people and has worked at the playground for 8 years (Previously playground manager before commencing Ph.D.).
Bex has recently finished a four-year post and the External Examiner for BA (HONS) Playwork at Leeds Beckett University. She is a visiting lecturer for the Therapeutic Playwork module.
Prior to working at KIDS Lady Allen Adventure Playground, Bex was the course leader and lecturer on BA (HONS) Playwork and Youth Studies, Foundation Degree Playwork and Youth Studies and Foundation Degree Playwork and Therapeutic Playwork courses at South Essex College (previously Thurrock and Basildon College) a collaborative programme of University of East London.
Bex holds the following qualifications:
MA Play and Playwork
P.G.C.E Post Compulsory Education
BA (HONS) Playwork and Youth Studies.
