Personal profile

Research interests

I am a general practitioner with a clinical interest in sexual and reproductive healthcare and public health. My research interests focus on how these can be delivered effectively in primary care.

I was awarded a PhD from Imperial College London in June 2023. My thesis was on "Improving the effectiveness and equity of contraceptive provision in general practice". This PhD was part of a Doctoral Research Fellowship (DRF grant number DRF-2017-10-181) funded by National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). I conducted some feasibility work through an In-Practice Fellowship (grant number IPF-2014-08-11) also funded by the NIHR. My supervisors were Professor Sonia Saxena, Professor Alex Bottle and Professor Helen Ward throughout my doctoral fellowship.

During my Fellowship, I also collaborated with other research teams within Imperial College London and externally with teams from Cardiff University and Oxford University on topics such as child health in primary care, PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) among gay and bisexual men who have sex with men in Wales and experience of gender non-conforming young people.

As an NIHR Clinical Lecturer at CAPC, I will continue with my research interest in sexual and reproductive healthcare. I will also be exploring HIV care and PrEP delivery in general practice.
