My research focus on minoritised sexualities and genders. My body of work is focused specifically on exploring how those with minoritised identities can make their lives 'livable' based on their navigations of hostile systems.
I have recently completed a book with Routledge entitled Making Space for Bi+ Identities: Explorations of Genders, Identities, and Relationships. I am currently working on my second book, which is a textbook focusing on feminist and queer qualitative research methodologies.
I am also working on a variety of projects related to researcher reflexivity within queer research methodologies. Alongside this, I am developing projects related to exploring the socio-digital.
At present I co-convene the South West/South Wales network Queer Frontiers alongside Dr Peter Dunne (Bristol), Dr Joao Florencio (Exeter), Dr Fran Amery (Bath), and Dr Kate Marston (Cardiff). This network intends to draw together people working on LGBTQ+ lives and experiences.
I also run the school level research group, Critically Queer alongside Dr Rosa Targett. We intend to draw together school level interests on sexuality and gender to facilitate queer sociological and political studies.
