Research interests
I am an Associate Professor in Health Professions Education at Bristol Medical School, working for two PGT taught programmes - Health Professions Education and the MSc Reproduction and Development (as co-Programme Director). I also work for the UG MBChB programme (as Year 1 Choice Academic Lead). I have a background in infant feeding research and in teaching health professionals; since coming to the University of Bristol I have widened my research interests to include Scholarship of Teaching and Learning and pedagogical research. I am a steering group member of Bristol Medical Education Research Group (BMERG) and HALSEN and co-chair the HALSEN conference committee. I am, and have been, involved in a number of HALSEN- and BILT-funded projects.
I have an interdisciplinary academic background and have recently completed an MA in History with the Open University. I am interested in the value of interdisciplinarity in teaching and learning. I have supervised three PhDs, one DPhil and one DDS to completion. I am interested in supporting others to publish, and have published with MSc and PGR students.
