Research interests

My research is on the work of the English archaeologist Sir Arthur Evans and his excavations at Knossos on Crete in the early 1900's.

I am studying his engagement with contemporary science, in particular with ideas of eugenics, craniometry and race, and how this engagement influenced his understanding of representations of the human face and form (i.e. frescoes, figurines) that he discovered at Knossos or later authenticated.

My research interests include the Eastern Mediterranean Bronze Age and the history of archaeology.
