Research interests

 Sarah is a Chartered Psychologist and Senior Research Associate based in the Musculoskeletal Research Unit (MRU) at Bristol Medical School. She is currently working on an National Institute for Health Research (NIHR)-funded qualitative study led by Dr Sarah Drew and Professor Rachael Gooberman-Hill, which aims to better understand patients experiences of diagnosis for vertebral fracture.

 After graduating from the University of Exeter with a 2:1 honours degree in Psychology (2011), Sarah completed a masters with merit in Health Psychology at the University of Bath (2013). Her PhD (University of the West of England, 2020) explored the psychosocial impact of Joint Hypermobility and Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes, heritable disorders of connective tissue that can cause chronic muscle and joint pain.

Sarah's research interests include self-management of long-term musculoskeletal conditions, invisible disability and patient education.
