Research interests

I am investigating the visual representation of refugees and asylum seekers using 'digital-visual' artefacts in the British context. Using Visual Social Semiotics, I investigate how hegemonic 'statist' ways of seeing refugees/asylum sekeers may be destabilised at a variety of scales other than the national scale (e.g. supranational, subnational and individual).
