Personal profile

Research interests

Graduating from a German study program in Biomimetics, I have always been fascinated by the great adaptations nature has developed to solve all kinds of problems. At the intersection of engineering and biology, I am interested in how we can learn from nature and apply our findings from biology in different contexts of our daily life.

My undergraduate thesis on the kinematics of crashing locusts first brought me into contact with insects, and I have been working on them ever since. I will work on the interaction of moths and bats, and how the acoustic camouflage of insects can be turned into modern technology.
