Research interests

My work draws on critical and political economic theory to understand how systems and structural processes impact society, economy, and environment.

My research explores how macro-financial architectures and financial systems are contributing to the climate crisis. On the one hand, this involves examining how macro-financial architectures shape government level climate policy. On the other, it means tracking flows of capital into climate critical sectors like energy. Between these two mechanisms, my work aims to explore the tension between financial hegemony and distinct heterogeneities, and what this means for the climate crisis.

Marshalling finance is one of the key issues in meeting sustainability goals this century, and I’m interested in understanding how we can better construct our financial systems to meet these goals.
