Personal profile

Research interests

I am Language Teaching Associate in Italian. I design and deliver language units for ab-initio and post-A level students in their first year. I also teach Italian oral classes to second-year students and finalists and I occasionally supervise undergraduate dissertations.

In July 2018, I was awarded a PhD in Italian Studies by the University of Bristol. My doctoral thesis explored the relationship between theatre and protest movements in contemporary Italy. I hold an MA in Modern Languages (English, Spanish and French) from the University of Siena. Following my MA, I was awarded a fellowship in the USA, where I taught Italian language to undergraduate students at Vassar College (NY).

I have been a Language Tutor at Bristol University since 2014. My research interests include Italian social movements, decolonising language teaching and learning, the politics of language education, intercultural competence, and the role of theatre in language learning and teaching.
