Research interests

My areas of expertise include RF, analogue and digital (programmable) electronics. My particular forte is in making prototypes/hardware to demonstrate that techniques work in the real world as well as simulation.

I started my research career in the Centre for Communications Research, working on a wide range of projects mostly involving MIMO RF transceivers, but also on a 60 element RADAR array for detection of breast cancers. 

More recently, I have been implementing digital motor controllers for aviation and vehicle use. I am currently working on a massive distributed data acquisition system to record data in the Earthquake Laboratory, testing the resilience of structures against earthquakes.
