Projects per year
My research interests primarily focus upon the challenges of safeguarding children effectively. More specifically, how we work with the complexities and challenges of children living with neglect so as to improve their overall health and welfare. I am particularly interested in interprofessional communication and safeguarding practices across agencies and social work processes within and across statutory services.
Methodologically I have experience of mixed methods approaches, quantitative and qualitative: social work case file analysis, semi-structured interviews, non-participation observation, and focus groups. I have particular familiarity with researching sensitive topics with children, families, and professionals in school and social work settings and of undertaking collaborative research within different cultural contexts.
