    Personal profile

    Research interests

I am a climate scientist at Bristol University, within the Climate Dynamics team lead by Prof Dan Mitchell. My work focusses on climate extremes, particularly heat extremes. I use observational data and large ensembles of climate models to investigate the characteristics of extremes in both the current climate and future climate projections. I am interested in the impacts of heat extremes, and especially how heat stress influences human health.

I have previously worked in flood risk at the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, and as a research scientist at the Met Office Hadley Centre. I completed my PhD, titled 'Early Twentieth Century Warming', in Meteorology at Reading University.
