Personal profile

Research interests

After working in evidence synthesis, I have developed an extensive interest in translating research into clinical practice and evidence-based medicine. For the NIHR Advanced Fellowship, I would like to improve the practice of over-the-counter (OTC) medicine sale and supply in community pharmacies for managing musculoskeletal (MSK) pain.

My research interests comprise many different components: advanced statistical methods (network meta-analysis), living systematic review framework, co-design methodology and feasibility study design. I hope to link these components with my strong interests in coding (Python, VBA and R mainly) and non-linear experiences in different sectors. The Department has provided a splendid environment in which to research these areas. I am very lucky to have the chance working with world leading experts in the Department, including Professor Julian Higgins, Professor Nicky Welton, Dr Christie Cabral, Mr Ade Williams, and the PPI&E team in Centre for Academic Primary Care (CAPC).

Short Biography

I am a pharmacist working in a community pharmacy and a Research Fellow in the University of Bristol.

I hold a degree in BSc Pharmacy Taipei Medical University (Taiwan). I came to the UK in 2009 to undertake an MSc Pharmacology at the University of Oxford. Subsequently, I was awarded the Swire Scholarship to support my DPhil degree in Physiology, Anatomy, and Genetics at the University of Oxford (supervised by Professor Keith Dorrington and Peter Robbins). Following my DPhil in 2016, I took a detour to become a systematic reviewer and a UK registered pharmacist in the academic journey.

Outside of the University, I am a trustee for Age UK Bristol.
