Personal profile

Research interests

My research interests include: sustainability transition, social practice theories, postcapitalist social movements, prefigurative politics, nonformal education, emotion and wellbeing

I hold a BA in Politics and Spanish from the University of Nottingham (2013), an MSc in International Development from the University of Bath (2017) and am currently a University of Bristol doctoral researcher in Geographical Sciences

My doctoral research explores place-based models of socio-ecological learning; looking specifically to the European ecovillage movement as a radical prefigurative site of alternative pedagogical practice for forming/transforming environmental values, relationships and behaviours. This project utilises qualitative methodologies grounded in Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) and draws on political ecologist and non-representational theories

Alongside my doctorate, I am involved with several sustainability-focused research networks. In my previous employments I have been engaged with civil society projects such as permaculture and community-supported agriculture to sociocracy and intentional communities. I also teach extensively across the university, designing and leading lectures and seminars and/or acting as teaching associate/unit coordinator on the folllowing modules:

  • MSc Environmental Policy and Politics
  • MSc Introduction to Educational Inquiry
  • BSc Sustainable Development
  • BSc Critical Political Ecologies of Extraction and Conservation
