Research interests

Wenjuan is a pharmacist with research interests in the drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics for early clinical trials/preclinical drug development; nutrients absorption, metabolism and interactions with gut microbiota.  She has intensive experience in using advanced liquid/gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry for drug/nutrients metabolism analysis in human/rodents; HPLC-MS/GC-MS based metabolomics in pharmacology and toxicology study; Nutrition intervention study included acute feeding study to investigate how food circulate in the body and make impacts on health.

Wenjuan is currently co-ordinating an international multidisciplinary research and capacity-building programme on reducing the antibiotic resistance (ABR) burden in China. Current research will mainly focus on how to reduce ABR environmental burden through the monitoring of environmental exposures to antibiotics and antibiotic-resistant genes; and will also be involved in using mixed qualitative and quantitative approaches to modify prescribing behaviour among health professionals.
