My research project focuses on mass modeling of galaxies to determine their composition, separated into stellar, gaseous, and dark matter componets. Existing data from radio telescopes in Australia (ATCA) and South Africa (MeerKat telescope) will be used, first for a subset of nearby, well resolved galaxies, then moving to more distant galaxies. The mass modeling will be performed using proven software, and the results from the nearby galaxies compared with the literature. These results will then be used to inform the work done for more distant galaxies, to investigate the effect of spatial resolution and cosmic time on the mass modeling results.
