My PhD research focuses on consumer attitudes towards alternative protein sources. I am primarily interested in plant-based products and cultured meat as meat substitutes. My aim is to understand what consumer think and feel about these substitutes in detail. I am also investigating whether 'disgust' is a barrier in acceptance of these products. My reseach would be helpful to find intevertations that would encourage people to reduce their meat consumption.
The real life implications of this research have already showed its effect on my personal life and helped me to reduce my meat consumption. I used to have a meat-based diet, but now I am a flexitarian (semi-vegetarian) and I really enjoy meat substitutes :)
For environment, health and animal welfare, let's reduce meat consumption!
