Personal profile
Research interests
I am a cultural geographer researching the intersection of affect theory and diaspora studies. My doctoral thesis, provisionally titled Affective Diasporas/Diasporic Affect, aims to provide novel conceptual vocabularies for articulating the minor lifeworld of Chinese diaspora. I have wide-ranging theoretical interests including non-representational theory, queer theory and cultural studies. Methodologically, I experiment with creative qualitative methodologies such as life history interviewing, diagramming and autotheortical writing. I am also passionate about communicating and collaborating with diverse partners beyond academia, having led and contributed to various policy, artistic, and community outreach projects.
