There is a growing use of AI to support clinicians with outcomes prediction. Among the general public, there is a relatively low understanding of AI and its applications, with limited trust in AI to assist clinicians in making decision. Moreover, there is a gap in how individual characteristics influence these prediction. In maternal health, minoritized ethnic women and their babies are more likely to die during childbirth, receive substandard care and suffer poor experiences. These women have been historically underrepresented in health research. Engaging these women will foster equality, diversity and inclusion, and support technical improvement to drive health improvements.
