The Art of Recovery: Anniversary Screening and Workshop on the 3/11 Disaster. This project aims to commemorate the 3/11 Fukushima disaster and to provide an interdisciplinary platform to reflect on how religious and artistic practices contribute to building community resilience and shaping responses to crises. The project will bring together academics, artists, and filmmakers to deepen our understanding of the social, cultural, and environmental impacts of disasters, as well as the mediating and healing functions of community-based and artistic practices. The project will feature two events: the UK premiere of The Invisible Island, a documentary on the 3/11 disaster, followed by a Q&A with the director, and an academic workshop provisionally titled The Art of Recovery: Cross-disciplinary Approaches to the Fukushima Disaster.
