Project Details
Description
The Virtual School Head for Looked After Children (‘children in care’) is a government initiative to improve the educational experiences and attainments of children in public care living in foster and residential homes. The Virtual School Head is a senior employee in local authorities whose role is to oversee and coordinate services for children in care as if they all attended the same school. The initiative is being piloted in 11 local authorities and our researchers are evaluating these pilots.
