A co-production film project with the older South Asian community to promote inclusive involvement in health research

Project Details

Description

We co-created short films with Dhek Bhal, a South Asian community group in Bristol together with a multi-disciplinary team of experts from the University of Bristol and final year film students from the Department of Film and TV. These films include the importance of including people from marginalised communities in health research involvement and participation.

Layman's description

For two and a half years, we have been working with Dhek Bhal a South Asian community group in Bristol, on research about bones and joints and about making health research more accessible. We put together a team of experts from the community and different areas of the University of Bristol and made some films together about the importance of involving marginalised community groups in health research. This included a main documentary and ‘behind the scenes’ films as well as two films just about research and a short film about what Dhek Bhal means to the community.
