Project Details
Description
To be genuinely useful, robotic assistants may need to be clever and powerful; this may also make them dangerous. Demonstrable safety is a prerequisite for robots to be trusted. How this can be done is a new, very challenging and timely research question that requires us to work with experts in industrial-scale software systems and also with the developers of robotic platforms. This project seeks to initiate, establish and grow two new collaborations with partners that complement the expertise of the researchers working on Verification and Validation for Safety in Robots research theme at the University of Bristol and at the BRL.
