Project Details

Description

My key objective is to build a collaborative network between UoB and the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP), which will bring together academic researchers, professional animators, government officials and NGO workers in Bristol and Peru with a view to examine how displaced indigenous people can be actively engaged in the production and dissemination of digital technologies to seek wider recognition and self-representation. This collaboration is at the centre of a proposed research project—“Animation for Development”—that will explore the use of collaborative visual methods (animation and film-making) in impact-driven research with indigenous youth in Latin America, for which we will submit a founding bid in 2019.

The network is co-funded by the Brigstow Institute and the International Strategic Fund.
