Layman's description
Set theory and algebraic topology have previously been almost disjoint areas of mathematics. Set theory studies the basic notion of a set of things, with much work for example on what assumptions one can consistently make about infinity. Algebraic topology studies spaces like spheres and donuts by associating algebraic structures to them. This project aims to bring the two areas together, applying tools and techniques from set theory to problems in algebraic topology.
