Bristol - Japan Nuclear Decommissioning Partnership

  • Malkin, Rob (Principal Investigator)

Project Details

The Bristol - Japan Nuclear Decommissioning Partnership has been set-up to initiate research collaborations between the University of Bristol (UoB) and various nuclear decommissioning research centres in Japan. Since the Fukushima nuclear disaster in 2011 Japan has been at the forefront of research in decommissioning technologies. The overall aims of this partnership are to (1) contribute to the Fukushima decommission efforts by sharing of UoB based expertise, and (2) develop the decommissioning and extreme nuclear environment research and capabilities at UoB.

The project is funding a short term visit by Dr Malkin to Japan where he will visit with a number of academic and industrial partners.
