Project Details
Description
This project is a collaboration between the University of Bristol and artists Ella Good & Nicki Kent to research, develop & design plans for a feasible house for humans on Mars, as part of several prototyping processes taking place across 2018. This feasibility work forms a crucial part of proving the concept and laying groundwork for the real, practical build of the house, which is planned to happen in 2019 and be the subject of a documentary, proposed to be
produced by Channel 4. Through this initial research, we will investigate and model what is needed to live on Mars. As such our research questions/areas include practicalities around oxygen, water, waste
management, renewable energy, as well as living space and how design will play a vital role in wellbeing and mental health.
