Project Details
Description
This is a small-scale, pilot project that aims to explore KS3 students' understanding of the relationships between Mathematics and art using The Gift (two galleries containing some of Hepworth’s materials, proto-types and sculptures). Drawing on observations of students, teachers and artists at work in school and in the gallery, interviews and questionnaires, the project aims to make recommendations for future such work.
Layman's description
The project’s long-term aim is to research ways of working across subjects (cross-curricular) and to develop these into a resource that could be used by schools visiting The Hepworth Wakefield, as well as a distance learning tool. The objectives are to enable students to increase their understanding in key areas of the curriculum, improve their collaborative and team-working skills and develop their appreciation of art.
