Project Details

Description

Hypobaric hypoxia is a significant stressor to the cardio-vascular system and its impact on cardiac function and metabolism is still debated. In particular the effect on the right ventricle has not been fully investigated. Our research group has been invited to join APEX 4 - one of the most respected high altitude expeditions ´to investigate cardiac function at 5300m altitude at Chacaltaya/ Bolivia.
AcronymAPEX 4 - heart function sub-study
